Amanda Tracey - Reading Response project for C&I689, West Virginia University, Spring 2010
For this project, I read the book Coming of Age in America: A Multicultural Anthology, edited by Mary Frosch. This book is a collection of short stories and novel excerpts sharing the perspectives of American youths from many culturally diverse settings. The Sante Fe Sun describes the book as follows: "Coming of Age in America covers a wide swath of cultural backgrounds and emotional territory without becoming lost to any lowest common denominator other than the emotional resonance that binds the book together."
In order to share the information that I have discovered while reading this book, I have created a web site that features an overview of some of the stories in the book, as well as suggestions for teachers, and my own personal responses to the readings. To navigate to the different pages, please click on the 'Next', 'Back', and "Home" buttons at the bottom of the page.
